Hongcun
Hongcun was founded by Wang Wen of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1131.
The Huizhou-style architecture in Hongcun integrates exquisite wood carving, brick carving, and stone carving techniques, which are widely distributed in gate towers, beams, columns, window lattices, and bridge railings. The content mostly consists of auspicious patterns and traditional stories. The craftsmanship is delicate, the layers are distinct, and it demonstrates the unique charm and cultural heritage of Huizhou carving art.
