Huizhou-style carving is one of the most mature systems in traditional Chinese architectural carving art, originating from Huizhou Prefecture and covering three major categories: wood carving, brick carving, and stone carving.
Wuyuan originally belonged to Huizhou Prefecture and was an important place for the dissemination of Huizhou culture. Its carving art is in line with the Huizhou school but also has a distinct local style, forming a local style known as the "Three Types of Wuyuan Carving."
